NORTH SHORE LIGHT RAIL CONNECTIONS

Overview

In June 2000, the Port Authority of Allegheny County completed studies to link the Golden Triangle and Pittsburgh's North Shore via an underground rail transit system called the North Shore Connector Project.

The map below charts the destination points of the Light Rail.

Features

Two light rail stations will service the North Shore: Allegheny Station and North Shore Station. The North Shore Station will be integrated into the West General Robinson Street Garage. Workers can board the Light Rail and take the train to their place of work downtown. The Light Rail is underground from Downtown to the North Shore and will become aerial between Art Rooney Avenue and Tony Dorsett Drive.
