Senator Logan was appointed to the Board of the SEA by County Executive Onorato. He was elected to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Senate to represent the 45th Senatorial District in parts of Allegheny and Westmoreland counties. He has been appointed as chairman of the Senate Law and Justice Committee. He is also a member of the Agriculture and Rural Affairs; Finance; Labor and Industry; Local Government and State Government committees. He serves on the Senate Firefighters and Emergency Services Caucus as the Democratic Chairman; the Transportation Committee of the Eastern Regional Conference of the Council of State Governments; and the Legislative Data Processing Committee. Senator Logan graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Political Science and prior to his election to the Senate, he was an assistant to both state Senator Frank Pecora and U.S. Congressman Michael F. Doyle. In 1997, Sean Logan became the youngest person elected Mayor of Monroeville Borough, also making him the youngest mayor in the Commonwealth. Prior to his career as a lawmaker, Senator Logan was picked to receive the Pittsburgh Magazine "40 under 40" award in 1999. His affiliations include the Monroeville Chamber of Commerce; Pennsylvania State Mayor's Association; Association of Borough Mayors of Allegheny County; Allegheny County Borough's Association; Lisa's House Board of Directors; Fraternal Order of Police, Pennsylvania State Lodge; Order of Italian Sons and Daughters of America, Lodge 224; Steel Valley Authority Board of Directors, Woman's Place Board of Trustees and the Alle-Kiski Learning Center Board. He also serves as an honorary member of the Mon-Yough Fire Defense Council and is honorary co-chairman of the Pennsylvania and Emergency Services Institute.
